Internets At Maximum Verbosity! - Hail to the King Edition

So there's some sort of hot shot HR IT consultant type guy that they just put in the cube across from my office.  He won't shut the fuck up about Workflows and he's really loud and our head IT tool is fawning all over him like he's Kurt Cobain reincarnated and why can't I get some more RAM for my anemic, four year old PC damnit?

Yesterday the good doctor suggested that I bail on my fancy web based text editor and move over to Dreamweaver.  The problem is that a) Dreamweaver is expensive (haha) and b) it may or may not run from a Flash drive.  So I've decided to go to the next best thing, good old Notepad.  When in doubt, hand code.

Oh yes, if everything has gone according to plan, DrMorley should be the proud owner of another mouth to feed.  Congratulations are in order.

What is it Good For?
  • Nothing's really been on TV for the past couple of weeks.  Call it the winter holiday hiatus.  So when I saw my Tivo's red record light flash on I was surprised, but pleasantly so, to see it recording an episode of Frontline.  I loves me some Frontline, especially their war and politics coverage.  It's truly first rate stuff.  Return of the Taliban definitely lived up to their consistent levels of quality.  It's a great deep dive into the realities of the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan.   The whole show is available online.  Add a season pass to Frontline while you're at it.
  • Spiders is a fascinating web comic that tells a Give Me Liberty  tale of an alternate universe where Al Gore is the president preceding over the invasion of Afghanistan.  It's one of the few web comics I've seen that really takes advantage of the web as a medium.  As with many great works, it appears to be unfinished (last update was in 2003), but it's definitely a worthy way to spend a half hour or so.
  • Sure those rebel fighters are a bit touchy about the 'desecration' of their 'holy lands' and such, but  what's this guy's deal?

Baby You Can Drive My Car
  • Sometimes I hear people complain about how modern game controllers have too many buttons on them.  They need to take one look at an F1 steering wheel and shut up.

Bleeding Edge

Stupid (but Funny) Internet Shit

Fortune
Now listen up, you primitive screwheads. See this? This... is my boomstick! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
