The Internets Can Put It Anywhere - SPARTA Edition

It has become apparent to me of late that these things just don't write themselves. Through sheer force of will I have attempted to make it happen, but it is just not to be. The triple threat of a new position at work, pending nuptials and selling my home has really infringed on my Internet surfing (among other things).

Random Thoughts:

Tokyo Police Club are playing at a tiny venue by my current domicile. Alas, I didn't realize how in demand tickets would be. Not even a scent of them on Craigslist. Speaking of Chicago concerts, Pitchfork is supposed to announce the line up for their summer fest (think Indierock-apalooza) today. Ravinia, the anti-picthfork, announced their 2007 line up recently as well. Ravinia's target market can be pretty much summed up with one band on the card - Hootie and the Blowfish
300 opens today. Gonna try to take in that this weekend.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the premiere of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer television show. Scoff if you will but it's like totally one of the best TV series ever. Really. Remember when everyone thought that Sarah Michelle Gellar was hot? Then she did Cruel Intentions and got even hotter. God, that movie was like Cinemax soft porn with a plot. Then she married Freddie Prinze (or whatever) Jr. and dropped off the face of the earth. What's up with that?
