Holy shit does this new gig have me running my ass running around in circles or what?  It's positively marathon like.  I think I forgot to tell my new corporate overlords that I have a certain amount of time that must be allocated to research conducted on the Internets.

Is anyone having issues with the RSS feed.  The old Feedburner link seems to have punked out during the switch to the latest version of Community Server software.  I have no idea why.  I'll look into it tonight (probably).   But juding from the view counters on the front page the broken RSS feed doesn't seem to be a big problem for anyone (and if it is they probably don't know it as their RSS feeds wouldn't be showing any updates.  Ahh.... paradoxical).  Looks like Drmorley's new and improved sitemap is doing its job.  Welcome new readers.

Aural Pleasure

• LCD Soundsystem's new album, The Sounds of Silver, dropped yesterday (Site, Myspace).  I've only been able to listen through the entire thing once so far, but to my ears it appears to be a worthy follow-up to their self titled 2005 debut.  Other actual respected music publications seem to share my opinon.  Someone's already taken the time (and bandwidth) to post some remixes of Sounds of Silver.  Nice job random remix people.  Also, LCD Soundsystem is playing a show at Chicago's Metro theater on May 6th.  I will be there if anyone wants to join in.
• Looking for other sources of new tunes?  Hype Machine scrapes all of the best music blogs and aggregates everything in one place.  Glad to see someone getting back to what the Internet is all about:  Profiting from other's work.

Miscellanea

• Winter's over as of yesterday, but just because the harsh weather is over doesn't mean that you shouldn't be prepared for the worst.  No joke.  Bad things can happen.  Prevent bad things with this economical DIY car survival kit.
• Airplane's lav is out of service due to a broken light.  Beered up dude can't hold it so he whips it out and pees in an airsickness bag.  Nicely done beered up dude.  Nicely done.
• Behind the scenes at the new Woot HQ
• Gridskipper's A Beginner's Guide to Chicago leaves some things out (Bin 36 instead of say, Alinea?  Really?) and has things that can absolutely be missed (Gino's East?  No.) but they're spot on with most of the list.  A good read for locals too.  I had no idea about the $2 bowling at UIC.  I've been used to the $6 game anal rape at places like 10 Pin.
