More than any other sport, baseball is all about stats. Batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, and on and on and on. What is Aramis Rameriz's batting average with loaded bases and a left hander during a home game when they're wearing the blue unis? Give me a second and I'll look that up. Coming from a marketing background one of the stats that I frequently use is the good old ROI (return on investment). This is a stat that is generally ignored in baseball. Mainly because no one wants to focus on the fact that their $17MM/yr left fielder might actually be worth less production wise than two $9MM/year players. Ben Fry's Salary v. Perfomance meter tracks teams' records versus their salary over the course of the entire year. Neat toy. Question: : Why is it that he used the city names for most of the teams, but labled a few with the team names (Brewers, Cards, Phillies, Orioles, Angles)?
