The Internets Could Really Use a Nap - Open Position Edition

I drank way too much this weekend.  It was nice to see Big Liquid Guy come out to play though.  Despite being exhausted yesterday, I couldn't really sleep last night.  I couldn't even manage to fall asleep watching the Cubs (The NASCAR race, my preferred choice for Sunday afternoon naptime, was rained out).   I'm still kind of sleepy and coming back to an RSS reader with three days worth of posts to read was rather overwhelming.  I decided that the easiest way to cope with that was to delete everything and start from scratch.  Hence, today you get a lot of dated links that have been sitting in the queue for a while.

Also, the bus took forever this morning and my DS battery crapped out on me five minutes into my wait at the bus stop.  I am having a good day.

BOTI Minionwatch:  Forgot to mention it, but another minion quit on Wednesday.  That's four in under two years.  Is it something I said?  Regardless, said minion has already been replaced with yet another twenty-five year old girl.  It's all very interchangeable parts.

  • Due to a massive billing discrep, DirecTV went from inching itself to taking a flying leap across the line into Companies I Hate territory.  Perhaps I'll just bail on pay television altogether and try this QAM tuner trick.
  • The city finally cleaned up the graffiti tag on my garage door.  Creatively, the tag probably would have rated a 2 out of 10 on the Pedro scale.  Two points for the hard to see yellow, but major deductions for the lack of humor and general design aesthetics.    Had the tag not been on my actual property, I might have given the taggers a report card.  Grade F.
  • The actual wiring for this House Off Switch design concept would be a bit more than 'basic' but, as I manage to leave lights and stereos on all the time, said switch would probably end up saving me a lot of cheddar.
  • I'm late to the party on this one, but the Interwebs are aflame with lust for a high school pole vaulter.  So much so that the meme made the front page of the Washington Post last week.   The Post article is strange as it gets a little... porny.. with its description of Stokke's picture:
"At 5 feet 7, Stokke has smooth, olive-colored skin and toned muscles. In the photo, her vaulting pole rests on her right shoulder. Her right hand appears to be adjusting the elastic band on her ponytail. Her spandex uniform -- black shorts and a white tank top that are standard for a track athlete -- reveals a bare midriff."
