As I write this the Cubs are attempting to snatch defeat from jaws of victory in this afternoon's opener against the Pirates.  I do believe that they're trying to give everyone in the city an ulser.

I bought the wrong RAM.  What a pain in the ass.  How does anyone figure out that they need a 184 Pin PC 3200 400MHZ CAS2 vs 168 Pin PC2700 333MHZ.  Bah.  I can't believe I used to be hardcore about this shit.  I just want my office computer to be able to run Excel without crashing.  You would think that my office would take care of that, but you'd be wrong.

  • Ken Burns' WWII 15 hour documentary series starts this Sunday night on PBS (lost the link.  Oops).  It's on something like two hours per night for seven nights.  And they're airing it during premiere week of all things?  That, I do not understand.  Why not save it for sometime when it won't get destroyed by the likes of CSI and whatever else it is that old people are watching (Let's be realistic, there's probably not a lot of overlap between the Grey's Anatomy audience and a fifteen hour war documentary.  So warm up your Tivos or wait for the DVDs (I'll be doing the latter).  There's also all that mumbo jumbo abotu Burns omitting the 'Latino side' of WWII, but that's just more whiny victim bullshit in my eyes.  You can't please everyone all the time so why even bother.
    
  • Speaking of whiny victim bullshit, there's a full page ad in today's USA Today (shut up, I get it at work) for the "Million Voices of Christ" petition that's basically asking people to sign a petition against making fun of Jesus and people that dig Jesus. I know that they spent more than $100M on this bullshit (It's part of my job, but I promise not to get all Rudy/Moveon/NYT on ya'll). Shut up Jesus people. I forgot that white (I'm going out on a limb here) protestants were a persecuted special interest group. Oh wait, you're not. Fucking grow a pair.
